Prague dans les années cinquante. Ludwig et Anna rentrent chez eux quelque peu éméchés après une soirée mondaine bien arrosée. Sur place, aucun d'eux ne retrouve sa clé.

Ils continuent leur conversation sur le pas de la porte, commentent la soirée qu'ils viennent de passer et parlent en particulier de la disparition d'un ministre que l'on dit arrêté.

Ils s'aperçoivent alors que leur porte était ouverte. Sur le trottoir, une voiture est arrêtée tous feux éteints et Anna découvre un micro dissimulé dans la cuisine...
