Aviva Victor a douze ans et veut à tout prix être maman. Elle fait tout pour que son rêve devienne réalité et parvient presque à ses fins. Ses projets contrecarrés par ses parents, elle fait une fugue, décidée à être enceinte, et se perd dans un monde à l'opposé du sien, moins raisonnable mais plus fertile en opportunités. Comme nombre de voyages, celui d'Aviva forme une boucle et se termine là où il a commencé. Bien malin qui saura dire si Aviva en sortira véritablement différente.
