En 1905,Grigori Raspoutine se présente à la famille impériale de Russie afin de guérir l'hémophilie d'Alexis, le fils unique du tsar. Quand ce dernier est complétement rétabli, Raspoutine est accueilli comme le messie au sein du Palais de Saint Saint-Pétersbourg. Le guérisseur découvre alors le luxe et la débauche et, au travers de mauvaises rencontres, se transforme en homme corrompu.
