Are they taking a lot of liberties with the storyline? I haven't read the comics in decades but I swear I remember the symbiote suit amplifying emotions and personality traits. Eddie Brock wasn't a reporter he was a murderer (maybe both I dunno) his violent nature is what made so powerful and different than when spiderman wore the suit. This also explained why carnage who was a serial killer was even more dangerous and psychotic. I am interested in this movie but I don't know how I feel about the symbiote being sentient."
