Lassée par sa vie en province et son mari, Albertine vient à Paris pour se divertir. Elle est accueillie par son amie Cécile qu'elle admire. Albertine fait connaissance d'un jeune romancier à la mode dont elle tombe amoureuse. Ils passent du temps ensemble, mais le jeune homme doit s'éloigner quelque temps pour écrire son roman. La jeune femme oscillera alors entre amants et déceptions.
