Dora Maar rencontre Picasso en 1935, elle a 28 ans et sa réputation de photographe avant-gardiste la précède. Lui a 54 ans et il est au sommet de sa carrière. Ils vivent une histoire d’amour passionnelle, mais le Minotaure va la détruire. Il lui demande d’arrêter la photo, et lui impose ses autres femmes. Il y a d’abord Olga, avec qui il est marié et a eu un fils, Pablo. Puis Marie-Thérèse, qui lui a donné une fille, Maya. Dora elle, est stérile, et se bat pour garder une place privilégiée au côté du maître. Elle est son principal modèle durant cette période, elle est "La femme qui pleure". Pendant 7 ans, Dora suit au plus près la vie du génie, notamment la création du "Guernica" qu’elle photographie dans toutes ses étapes successives. Puis arrive une nouvelle femme auprès de Picasso, Françoise Gillot. Dora se retire à Ménerbes dans le Vaucluse où elle apprendra la mort de Picasso.
