La jeune Capitaine Valentine Ventura, issue de la police financière, rejoint la brigade criminelle aux côtés du très célèbre Capitaine Antoine Thomas. Celui-ci rentre de congé maladie à la suite d’un terrible accident de voiture dans lequel il a perdu l’usage de ses jambes. C’est donc en fauteuil roulant qu’Antoine Thomas reprend son travail. Les deux policiers enquêtent sur le meurtre d’une jeune journaliste nantaise. Un homme va très vite être suspecté. Plusieurs éléments tendraient même à laisser penser qu’ils ont enfin mis la main sur un tueur en série qui sévit dans la région. Mais ce suspect est-il réellement le meurtrier tant recherché ?
