Trois marins, Gabey, Chip et Ozzie ont une permission d’un jour sur le sol new-yorkais. A peine mis un pied à terre, les jeunes garçons se lancent à la découverte de la ville mais surtout de ses habitantes. Chacun des garçons va alors faire une rencontre inespérée et inattendue. Entre une chauffeuse de taxi, une étudiante en anthropologie, Chip et Ozzie sont heureux
d’avoir trouvé chaussure à leurs pied. Malheureusement pour Gabey, celui-ci est tombé amoureux d’une mannequin inaccessible. Les trois compagnons vont alors ratisser la ville
de New-York afin de la retrouver, mais leur temps est compté..
