Nice. Dans un magasin de vêtements où "on parle anglais, on comprend l'américain", Michael Brandon, milliardaire américain, veut n'acheter que la veste d'un pyjama. Une aristocrate ruinée, NIcole de Loiselle, offre d'acheter le pantalon. Scandale, le vendeur refuse de céder le lot séparé en deux. L'affaire "monte" jusqu'au président-directeur-général de l'entreprise... et tout se solde par un mariage. L'épouse découvre que ce Barbe Bleue des temps modernes en est à sa huitième femme. La lune de miel, romantique à souhait (Prague-Venise-Paris), promet d'être mouvementée.
