Lorsque Alex Meyer, metteur en scène de comédie musicale, retrouve l'inspiration qu'il avait perdu depuis la rupture avec sa femme, c'est son producteur qui renonce à le suivre : dans ce métier trois ans d'absence c'est très long, trop long...
