Joey, une jolie jeune fille, vient d'être abandonnée par Sam, son fiancé, et dans un accès de désespoir, elle tente de mettre fin à ses jours dans un hôtel de Bangkok. Elle rate sa tentative, et, après son réveil, regrette amèrement son geste fou. Elle est désormais déterminée à vivre et à repartir à zéro. Mais elle se rend successivement compte qu'elle est enceinte de Sam, et que son esprit est accaparé par des visions que ne perçoivent pas les autres, celle d'une femme en particulier. Très perturbée, elle attribue ses tourments à sa tentative de suicide. Mais elle est en réalité dotée d'un terrible et nouveau pouvoir, elle est capable de voir les fantômes et les morts...
