Oleg (Vladimir Mashkov), un séduisant milliardaire de la mafia russe, entretient une bonne partie de sa famille et de ses amis, même si ses affaires ne sont plus aussi florissantes que par le passé. Dans la grande villa de Malibu qu'il vient d'acquérir, il organise une fête pour le réveillon et annonce qu'il veut changer de vie. Le même soir, Oleg reçoit une lettre de menace.
Le lendemain, alors que la cuisine est envahie de cafards, il fait appel à une société de désinfection. Arrive alors Lisa (Jennifer Jason Leigh), une séduisante jeune femme qui lui propose un quickie, "un petit coup vite fait", pour quelques dollars de plus.
