A la suite de la tentative manquée d'assassinat d'un parrain local, cinq professionnels retirés du milieu sont engagés pour assurer la protection de M. Lung, un gros bonnet de la pègre, membre des triades chinoises. Curtis, James, Mike et Shin (Kelly Lin) vont devoir faire abstraction de leurs problèmes extérieurs et s'adapter au groupe pour mener à bien leur soudaine mission. Ces cinq gardes du corps tissent des liens d'amitié, mais celle-ci est mise à mal lorsque Curtis reçoit l'ordre de tuer Shin qui vient d'avoir une liaison avec Mme Lung.
