Au debut du XVe siecle, la jeune Flavia, pour s'etre emue du sort d'un Sarrasin mortellement blesse, est envoyee par son pere dans un couvent. Elle en supporte mal les contraintes, excitee par sa soeur Livia, qui sera executee, et par sa soeur Agathe. L'incursion d'une troupe de Sarrasins fournit a Flavia l'occasion de retrouver sa liberte. Elle devient l'epouse d'un chef maure qui la decoit.
