Dans les années trente, Liam (Anthony Borrows) grandit dans le quartier catholique irlandais de Liverpool. A sept ans, il est le petit dernier de la famille.

Son frère aîné travaille déjà et participe aux frais de la maison tout comme sa soeur qui fait des ménages. Entre une mère affectueuse (Claire Hackett) et un père responsable (Ian Hart), la famille est heureuse malgré le manque d'argent, jusqu'au jour où la crise frappe de plein fouet les dockers.

Sans recours, amer mais déterminé, le père de Liam se laisse progressivement séduire par les mouvements fascistes locaux.

    Cannot. Freaking. Wait! looks like (Minus the white spider logo), Tom is playing another crazy, insane character (which is always fun!), and the use of, from what I can tell, is mostly practical effects, looks great! Speaking of effects, the CGI on does look pretty good, although it's par for the course for big CG monsters nowadays. That being said, the effects will probably look better in the final film."
