Carol s'ennuie dans son travail et dans son mariage avec Wayne. Lorsque Henry, cambrioleur de genie, est transfere de la prison a la maison de repos ou elle travaille, Carol est immediatement intriguee. Elle soupconne Henry d'avoir simule une attaque cerebrale. Jour apres jour, elle s'emploie a demasquer son stratageme. Henry resiste, tout en appreciant l'energie et la finesse d'esprit de Carol. Lorsqu'il se devoile enfin, ils deviennent complices. Carol pousse Henry a accomplir un dernier vol. Bien que reticent, il accepte d'apprendre a Carol les ficelles du metier.
