Samuel, psychiatre, mène une petite vie tranquille avec sa compagne Mathilde. Tout va pour le mieux dans le meilleur des mondes jusqu'au jour où elle lui annonce qu'elle est enceinte. Bien que très perturbé par la nouvelle, Samuel part en week-end avec Mathilde, chez son ami Marc, un coureur de jupons. Ils rencontrent Dominique, Georges et leurs trois filles. Samuel est de plus en plus paniqué à l'idée de devenir père, jusqu'à en rejeter totalement l'idée. Mais Mathilde, qui veut garder l'enfant, lui promet que sa grossesse ne viendra pas perturber leur couple...
