16 ans plus tôt, le village de Konoha est attaqué par le démon-renard Kyûbi, qui a été relaché par un mystérieux homme masqué. Pour sauver le village, Minato Namikaze, chef du village et son épouse Kushina sacrifient leur vie afin de sceller le démon-renard à l’intérieur de leur nouveau-né, Naruto Uzumaki. 16 ans plus tard, le mystérieux homme masqué réapparait et envoie Naruto et son amie Sakura dans une réalité parallèle. Les deux ninjas vont alors tout faire pour revenir dans leur "vrai" monde.
