Lou Garou est un flic alcoolique qui a pris pour habitude de se réveiller dans les endroits les plus improbables avec une sérieuse gueule de bois. Rien de très surprenant en fait, jusqu’au jour où les scènes de crimes sur lesquelles il est appelé à enquêter commencent à lui sembler bien familières. Il réalise en outre que sa vue, son ouïe et son flair, ou plus exactement son odorat, sont tout à coup décuplés. Ayant compris qu’il est atteint de lycanthropie galopante, Lou Garou va tenter de devenir un homme meilleur le jour alors qu’il est un animal la nuit.
