Sur la route de Portsmouth, Charles, un aristocrate, rencontre un jeune garçon nommé Franck et décide de l'adopter. Au fil des années, le riche châtelain se rend compte que Franck est une fille, Frances, et que cette dernière s'est fait passer pour un garçon pour échapper aux maisons closes. Heureux de cette nouvelle, Charles envoie la jeune femme à Londres pour qu'elle y soit formée aux plaisirs libertins et cette dernière, ravie de cette expérience, finit par devenir une amante parfaite.
