Pendant que le Roi Richard Cœur de Lion est parti en croisade, son frère Jean en profite pour prendre le pouvoir. A ses ordres, le Shérif de Nottingham, un homme sans cœur, qui libère une bête mystérieuse, une femme-dragon afin de détruire les villages qui refusent d'abdiquer. Mais il ne s'arrête pas là, puisqu'il capture aussi Dame Marianne, la promise de Richard. Excédés par ce chaos, Robin des Bois et ses compagnons sont prêts à affronter le Shérif et le dragon dans une lutte sans merci.
