Ce film est présenté au cinéma de la plage au Festival de Cannes 2023.
Antonio, chorégraphe espagnol, doit monter un ballet sur la musique de «Carmen», le fameux opéra de Bizet. Il lui manque une interprète pour le rôle principal. Après de nombreuses recherches, il découvre enfin l’oiseau rare qui, comble de chance, s’appelle vraiment Carmen. Antonio s’enthousiasme et la convoque pour un essai qui s’avère concluant. Son choix provoque des tensions, et notamment la jalousie de Cristina, considérée comme la meilleure danseuse de la troupe. Peu à peu, les répétitions s’intensifient tandis que s’ébauche une histoire d’amour entre Carmen et Antonio, complètement envoûté par la jeune femme..
