Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le Japon se retrouve divisé et occupé par deux forces rivales. Alors que l'Hokkaido est annexé par l'Union, les autres îles sont gouvernées par des forces américaines. Trois amis de la zone américaine, fascinés par une énigmatique tour érigée par l'Union, se sont fait la promesse de construire un avion et de lever le voile sur le mystère entourant la tour. Ce projet échoue lorsque l'un d'eux disparaît....

I don't look forward to seeing this movie for one reason only, and I'll commend it to you: A pair of novels by Hal Clement, Needle (ca. 1950) and its sequel Through the Eye of a Needle (ca. 1978). If you will, I'd the fortune of reading Needle as an impressionable youth just learning about the science fiction genre. No question that Tom Hardy will more than get the job done. I'd just like someone to know there's a choice."
