Un jour, leur assistant, Hans, est accusé à tort d'un meurtre et finit exécuté sur la place publique, au grand regret de sa petite amie Christina, qui se suicide. Profitant de l'occasion, le baron va transférer l'âme d'Hans dans le corps de sa bien-aimée, loin de se douter qu'une fois revenu à la vie le jeune garçon sera avide de vengeance...
