Eva, 17 ans, vit chez ses parents avec son frère de 7 ans, Lalalilu. Eva est très belle. Amoureuse pour la première fois, elle découvre les tiraillements de l'adolescence et la complexité de la vie d'adulte.
Eva a un rêve secret que seul son frère connaît : fuir la Roumanie et voyager à travers le monde.
Lalalilu est désespéré à l'idée que sa sœur pourrait le quitter. Avec ses deux meilleurs amis, Tarzan et Silvica, il manigance un plan pour tuer le dictateur, afin qu'Eva puisse rester et vivre dans un pays libre.
