Terry travaille dans un garage tandis que Ian dirige le restaurant de leurs parents.
Lorsque le premier est confronté à une importante dette de jeu et que le second s'éprend d'Angela, ambitieuse comédienne de théâtre, ils sont obligés de solliciter l'aide de leur oncle Howard qui a fait fortune en Californie.
En contrepartie de son solide coup de pouce financier, il leur demande de lui rendre un petit service.
