Mars 1943. Toussaint, un jeune clerc de notaire installé à Ajaccio, revient dans son village natal de Balagne, en Haute Corse, après cinq ans d'exil. Au hameau, il retrouve Ottone, son frère, Graciosa, sa mère, et Liberata, son premier amour, désormais mariée à Paul-Antoine, patron du bar-épicerie et seul notable du village.
Toussaint et Ottone vont stratégiquement se lier avec deux soldats italiens, installé dans ce hameau pour surveiller les agissements suspects de la population, afin de leur soutirer les informations nécessaires à l'organisation des parachutages d'argent et d'armes sur la Balagne. Une réelle amitié va naître entre ces quatre hommes, prémice du retournement de situation et de l'alliance franco-italienne qui a suivi le débarquement allié à Ajaccio en septembre de la même année.

And it's going to be about an alien parasite that literally eats people...and it's probably going to be PG-13.\n\nGet ready for lots of cutaways to silhouettes and sounds of eating people cause there ain't gonna be any real violence.
