Fin 1972, alors que les troupes coréennes d'apprêtent à rentrer au pays, l'Etat-major reçoit des messages radio de soldats déclarés morts quelques six mois plus tôt. Tae-in Choi est envoyé sur le terrain pour une mission de sauvetage avec un peloton d'éclaireurs. A peine arrivés sur le point d'extraction, les soldats de Choi meurent un à un, dans des conditions étrangement similaires à celles des soldats qu'ils venaient rechercher.
